but spring still came, 2024 found textiles, hope: 36x40" - this piece was made during the deep funk i found myself in after an unexpected health crisis in the winter of 2024; while i typically use the refuge of my creative practice to process and heal after traumatic events, i was struggling to access that part of myself. knowing it would help, i forced myself to select some fabrics at random from my scrap pile and started aimlessly working with them. unlike most of my work, i did not know where this project would lead, just forced my hands to tell my heart that everything was going to be ok. and in the end, it was.
